MONO-METHYL SUCCINATE - Production method
400g of succinic anhydride and 194ml of methanol were heated and refluxed together for 1h, excess methanol was evaporated under reduced pressure, the remainder was cooled and crystallized, and dried in vacuum to obtain 502-507g of methyl succinic acid with a yield of 95-96%.
